Syrup Recipes

I like margaritas with salt, but a salt-rimmed glass usually results in a couple of sips that are too salty. Incorporating salt directly into the syrup results in a margarita with a nice hint of salt in every sip.

1/4 cup tequila
2 tablespoons Cointreau or other triple sec
1 tablespoon Sea Salt–Lime Syrup (page 44)
1/4 cup seltzer

Lime wedge, for garnish

In a Margarita cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, Cointreau or triple sec, and Sea Salt–Lime Syrup, and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass over ice. Top with the seltzer, and garnish with a lime wedge.
