Tempeh Burgers


Tempeh Burgers

  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • Scallions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon margarine

Tempeh Burgers:

  • 300 grams tempeh, steamed and mashed
  • 2 cloves garlic, mashed
  • ½ teaspoon finely ground pepper
  • 50 grams grated cheese
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • 5 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying
  1. Tempeh Burgers: Mix onion, garlic, pepper, and salt, stirring until blended. Stir in grated cheese and bread crumbs. Mix well. Divide dough into 4 parts. Form into flat, round shapes.
  2. Heat oil. Fry burgers over medium heat until cooked.
  3. Heat margarine. Fry bread for a bit until it becomes golden-brown. Add ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, scallions, and tempeh burgers. Add second piece of bread. Serve warm.
